The new era of open markets, increased
global trade and online communication marked great opportunities
for the international small/medium enterprises (SME).
These SME's are continually trying to open up and buy/manufacture products outside of their own countries' boundaries (taking advantage of low manufacturing costs) and sell products outside of their countries boundaries ( doing so increasing customer database and sales). In addition they try to enter into contractual agreements with big multinational customers who, in return, lay strict contractual conditions for their suppliers (delivery lead time, inventory, quality, etc.).
The so called 'drop Shipment, 3rd party Shipment, remote
warehousing activities and sophisticated distribution
channels' (also called cross trade logistics) are logistics
techniques which SME's are increasingly trying to utilize.
These techniques are effectively
being used by many multinational companies already. For
the SME's, however they are still rarely available and
additionally may pose threats, due to the lack of:
- Control of commercial information i.e. relationship supplier and customers
- Quality Control- i.e. customer do not see final products before arrival
- Good freight solutions by existing logistics service providers- due to internal setup (at global logistics networks) or lack of network and resources (at local forwarders).
Control Towers International developed innovative techniques
to insure cross trade works flawlessly insuring, on one
hand safe and fast delivery and on the other hand control
of product quality and protection of commercial information.
Control Towers International services include:
- Complete Management of drop Shipment
- Remote warehousing and distribution
- Management of critical flows
